چکیده
The article includes research results for the functional properties achieved a wide range of sintered tool materials, including carbides, cermets and three types Al2O3 oxide ceramics ((Al2O3 + ZrO2, TiC SiC(w)) with (Ti,Al)N coating deposited in cathodic arc evaporation (CAE-PVD) method comparison uncoated materials. For all coated samples, uniform wear pattern on shank was observed during metallographic analysis. Based scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis, it found that most common tribological defects identified tested materials are: mechanical abrasive side, crater formation face, cracks chipping cutting edge built-up from chip fragments. Deposition substrates increases resistance also limits exceeding critical levels permanent stresses. It even life many times over. Such significant increase results, among other things, large microhardness PVD compared to increased thermal chemical abrasion, improved removal process conditions. Use hard coatings applied is considered be one important achievements improving tools can still developed by structure solutions (sorted nanocrystalline structures) extending applications variety substrates.

Titanium Nitride (TiN) coatings have led the way for providing increased wear resistance and extended life of cutting tools, whether carbide inserts or high-speed steel. Where the earliest applications were for high temperature substrate materials (carbides) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) was the process of choice, later developments in the physical vapor deposition (PVD) technology, espec...

In this paper, the performance of the cutting tool with nanocrystalline multilayer coatings (TiN+TiAlN) for machining of superalloy Inconel 718 in the dry and wet conditions was studied. The multi layer TiN and TiAlN with nanocrystalline structure was applied by physical vapor deposition technique (arc evaporation) on the WC-Co inserts. The results of the ball on disc wear test and the machinin...
متن کاملCorrosion resistance of CrAlN and TiAlN coatings deposited by lateral rotating cathode arc
In this work, CrAlN and TiAlN coatings were deposited on stainless steel substrates by a vacuum arc reactive deposition process from two lateral rotating elemental aluminum and chromium or titanium cathodes in a flowing pure nitrogen atmosphere. The composition and crystalline structure of the as-deposited coatings was analyzed by energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDX) and X-ray diffraction...
متن کاملOn the Durability and Wear Resistance of Transparent Superhydrophobic Coatings
Transparent liquid repellent coatings with exceptional wear and abrasion resistance are very demanding to fabricate. The most important reason for this is the fact that majority of the transparent liquid repellent coatings have so far been fabricated by nanoparticle assembly on surfaces in the form of films. These films or coatings demonstrate relatively poor substrate adhesion and rubbing indu...
متن کاملEffect of NiTi Addition on the Wear Resistance of YSZ Coatings
In this study, small fraction of NiTi (5 wt%) was added to Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) top coat to improve it sliding wear resistance. The measurement of width of wear tracks after wear tests under a 15 N load for 100 m sliding distances showed that the width of wear track in NiTi-YSZ coating is shorter than that in YSZ coating which depicts the higher wear resistance of NiTi-YSZ coa...
